Montgomery Remembers

Phase 6

September 2014

On a bright sun filled morning on Saturday, 6th September 2014, the community of Montgomery gathered for a service to dedicate the Town's War Memorial erected in memory of Montgomery's Fallen in the two Great Wars.

The service would include Rededication of the Garden of Remembrance following an extensive refurbishment programme undertaken by members of the town's community. The service was conducted by the Bishop of St Asaph, Dr Gregory Cameron assisted by the Archdeacon of Montgomery, Dr Peter Pike. Following a service in St Nicholas' church, the parade marched to the Garden of Remembrance where the Vice Lord Lieutenant, Lord Davies of Llandinam unveiled the Memorial.

One hundred years following commencement of WW1, the town of Montgomery had a War Memorial set with a Roll of Honour naming the town's Fallen.
